Mrs. Barbara Jean Hardy went to her heavenly home on Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Guest Care at Spring Lake after a lengthy illness.
A graveside service for family and close friends will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Forest Park West Cemetery with Rev. Tony Nations of Central Christian Church officiating assisted by Rev. Douglas Burnley.
Mrs. Hardy was born in Shreveport. She was a devoted preacher’s wife for the first part of her life living in Harmon, Goldonna, Marthaville, Fairview Alpha and then returning to Shreveport. Later she worked as a hostess at Western Sizzling and Trejo’s where everyone knew “Mrs. Barbara”. Her smile and quick wit made her a favorite friend with many customers over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dean and Mary Gibbs, bothers Van, Ray and Johnny, and special friend Michael Uli.
She is survived by daughters Donna (David) Cavanaugh and Nell Burnley, grandson Stephen Stansbury, sisters Mary (Danny) Norcross, Jo Ann (Wayne) Vest, Linda (Eddie) White, Brenda (Darrell) Balsinger , bother Richard (Judi) Gibbs and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Lakeairo Key, Bailey Youngblood and the staff of Guest Care at Spring Lake for their compassionate care, and her sister, Linda, who spent many hours sitting with her and keeping her company until the pandemic hit.
