Laura was a native of Gainesville, Florida and a resident of Shreveport of 48 years. The day after her anniversary of 27 years married to Brian, Laura ended her earthly struggle and fighting illness, and missed her next birthday by three days. After graduating from Centenary College with a degree in education, Laura taught school in New Orleans, then later in Bossier and Caddo parishes. From there, she pursued work in the pharmaceutical sales field and was quiet the drug rep winning a few awards along the way for promoting product. Laura loved to laugh and enjoy times of celebration with family and friends around birthdays and holidays. She loved to give gifts to everyone, no matter who, out gave all of us, not only in material things but patience, devotion, and unconditional love. Laura loved becoming Mimi, cherished her two granddaughters these past sixteen months and began outpouring gifts and supporting her Emmagayle and Charlotte Mae. Laura inherited her mother's love of fine art and bragged all of the time about Mammy Coleman's watercolor artwork. When Julia Anne and John were young, she also captured a love for sewing, invested in fancy sewing machines and smocking equipment and away she went hand making clothes for them. The pride Laura showed for the clothes she made for her children was infectious, and glowed as she showed off the kids modeling all of the things she made by hand. As her role of parent and loving mother, Laura instilled in her children the values of a high self-esteem, seek out and give to those in need, and do right by others. Laura will be missed by many family and friends as she left a lasting impression of kindness and joy with everyone she knew.
