Obituary

Graveside services for Lester “Pokie” Eugene Drach, Sr., 87, will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Park West Cemetery, 4000 Meriwether Rd., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Drive, in Shreveport from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Deacon Jeff Chapman.

Lester was born on March 2, 1935 in Shreveport, Louisiana to George Christian Drach and Bunie Bernice Scott Drach and passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2022 in Bossier City, Louisiana.

Lester worked as a land surveyor for 40 years for Arkla Gas before retiring. He graduated from Byrd High School then joined the United States Marine Corp. He enjoyed working in his garden and spending time with his grandsons.

Lester is preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, George and Wayne Drach. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 65 years, Helene Drach; children, Lester E. Drach, Jr. and wife, Debbie, Donna Denison and husband, Denny, Mark Drach and wife, Rhonda, Stacey Reichard and husband, Billy; grandsons, Jeremy Drach, Shane Drach, Andrew Drach, Jeremy Pither, Chris Drach, Justin “Blake” Carroway, Nick Carroway, Carson White; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Lester’s grandsons.

The family would like to express special thanks to Lester’s sitter, Tommy Mitchell, for the wonderful compassion and support given to him during his final weeks.
