Shane Ray Humphries Sr., of Shreveport, Louisiana went home to his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 13, 2021. He was born April 8, 1965 in West Monroe, Louisiana to Otis Woodrow “Billy” Humphries and Dema “Faye” Hickey Humphries. He was a plumber by trade, serving over 30 years in the industry. He worked mainly for the City of Shreveport for 18 years before working for other companies around Shreveport-Bossier Area. He also spent time as a member of the Free Masons briefly.
Shane was devoted to God and his family. His parents and his mentor, Frank Ledbetter ingrained a tremendous faith in God that he then passed on to his children and grandchildren. He frequently studied his Bible and could recite verses by memory. He enjoyed singing and listening to music. At a young age, he would sing Gospel music with his mother and later loved to sing Country music as well. Shane was happiest fellowshipping with his family and friends. He was quick witted and sharp and had a great sense of humor. Shane was always starting his conversations with jokes. He was passionate about helping others and taught his children to do the same. He was truly a good man who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Amber Nicole Clark and Shane Ray Humphries Jr.; three sisters, Karen Jordan, Jennifer Lee and twin, Sheila Humphries; grandchildren, Brandon Isaiah Humphries, Isabella Rose Clark, Sophia Alexis Clark, Zachary Chambers, Brooklyn Chambers and Royce Liles. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends and his beloved dog, Roxy.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kristy Dupont; his parents, Billy and Faye; brothers, Eric "Butch" Jordan and Billy "B-Bop" Humphries and his great mentor, Frank Ledbetter.
A visitation for Shane will be held Friday, July 16, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, Shreveport, Louisiana 71108. A graveside service will occur Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 9:00 AM at Forest Park West, 4000 Meriwether Rd, Shreveport, Louisiana 71109. Officiating the service will be Bro. Ronnie Whitten.
